Got Questions? Check Out Our FAQs!

Do you handle structural repairs and pool shell waterproofing?

Yes. Over time, concrete pool vessels are prone to damage from chemicals and weather. We suspect issues when stains or surface failures appear. High Sierra Pools evaluates and provides comprehensive solutions, including concrete re-conditioning and waterproofing to extend the life of your pool and avoid costly full rebuilds.

Can you repair damaged pool beams?

Yes. The top beam (which holds the pool vessel intact) is highly prone to damage in the VA, DC, and MD climate. We evaluate and rebuild this section by removing degraded concrete, reinforcing the steel, and applying cast-in-place concrete or shotcrete. This is typically paired with new decorative coping and waterline tiles.

Do you offer pool leak detection and line replacement?

Yes. Our skilled technicians use sophisticated equipment for pool leak detection and repair. When leaks become severe or plumbing lines are heavily corroded, replacing pool lines with new PVC lines is often the most cost-effective solution. We handle the design, hydraulics, and execution, working closely with county officials to ensure code compliance.

Can you remove old pool coatings and apply new plastering?

Yes, we provide full pool resurfacing. When multiple layers of old coating degrade, we perform a strip-down process to remove all excess plaster, evaluate the pool shell for structural damage, and then install a new top coating. We offer materials ranging from basic white plaster (marcite) to premium quartz or pebble finishes (Pebble-Tec, River Rok).

Do you repair and replace coping, tile, and caulking?

Yes. We service all masonry elements—coping, tile, and caulk—providing structural integrity, safety, and aesthetic appeal. Pool caulk is, in fact, the most critical element for preventing water seepage that will cause structural erosion. Contact us for an inspection or evaluation of your pool masonry today.

Do you handle pool deck replacement and surface coatings?

Yes. We evaluate and propose repairs or complete replacement of concrete pool decks and design appropriate drainage to protect your pool structure. We ensure that all deck work includes restoring the equipotential electrical bond, which is reviewed and approved by county officials to meet NEC Article 680 Bonding requirements.

Do you offer decorative coatings for pool decks?

Yes. We offer a variety of colored and textured coatings to dress up an aged deck or beautify a new one. For existing decorative coatings, we provide professional cleaning and resealing (recommended every two years) to ensure longevity.

Do you install and repair pool equipment?

Yes. Our team of certified technicians services, repairs, and installs a wide range of pool equipment, including pumps, filters, heaters, and lighting. We strictly follow and enforce all equipment standards and codes, such as VGBA (Virginia Graeme Baker Act) requirements.

Do you install automated pool systems?

Yes. We work with qualified installers on advanced solutions, including automated chemical administration (CAT controllers), UV disinfection, ozone, and complete pool automation. We always recommend energy-efficient solutions like variable frequency drive pumps and LED lighting.

Can you install safety pool covers?

Yes. We install custom-fit pool safety covers that protect your pool from damage during the offseason, provide a clean look, lower liability insurance costs, and act as a full-time lifeguard during winter months.

Do you handle pool enhancements and design?

Yes. Our Enhancements Division assists with virtually any project, including the design and build of wading pools, spas, pool extensions, beach entries, and spray-and-splash features. We offer solutions for both physical and visual improvements, such as shade structures and deck usability improvements.
