Certification Requirements
Obtain certification from the American Red Cross including:
- Water rescue
- First Aid
- CPR
- Surveillance – to help you recognize and prevent injuries
- Conflict resolution – to enhance your interactions with patrons
Swimming Skills
The American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification has a Swimming Prerequisite that is completed during the training. Check out the training and certification section of our website for more details!

Age Requirements
Potential lifeguards must be at least 15 years old to begin their lifeguarding career.
Training and Development
We provide continuous training sessions to keep our lifeguards current on the latest safety protocols and first aid techniques.
