High Sierra Pools, Inc (2704 Columbia Pike, Arlington, VA 22204, 703-920-1750 x102 (Vic), [email protected]) is seeking 15 temporary full time Area Lifeguards to work as Lifeguards within a group of primarily indoor swimming pools within a specified geographic area. Frequent work locations changes. Primarily assigned to operationally challenging single and multi-guard facilities (head lifeguard), during the period of April 1, 2020 – September 7, 2020.

ARC Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, AED, BBP certs required; 18 years or older; Valid driver’s license

40 hrs. $11.25/hr,- $13.00. O/T varies at $ 16.875/hr – $19.00/hr. Schedules vary per assigned location(s). Typical schedule could be Mo-Fr, 6AM – 2PM.

Daily transportation to / from work sites is provided as needed. Optional shared housing available at $150/wk, deducted from paycheck.

Job Title: Area Lifeguard;

Division: Operations Typical duties include: Performing duties and responsibilities consistent with those of a lifeguard (see below) within a group of primarily indoor swimming pools within a specified geographic area. Frequent work locations changes. Primarily assigned to operationally challenging single and multi-guard facilities (head lifeguard).

Summary of Essential Job Functions: 1. Monitors the pool facility area and controls entry to facility, regulates the conduct of patrons and coworkers to prevent unsafe activities and accidents. Warns patrons of safety hazards 2. Prepares pool area for opening and closing each day, monitors aquatic facilities cleanliness, including deck, bathhouses, guardroom and trash receptacles 3. Monitors and records water quality readings and performs basic adjustments 4. Promotes a courteous attitude when enforcing pool policies, rules, and regulations, responds to and takes appropriate action to resolve concerns and complaints 5. Effectively executes rescues and provides first aid according to American Red Cross standard 6. American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, AED and BBP certification required ARC Lifeguarding, CPR, First Aid, AED, BBP certs required; 18 years or older; Valid driver’s license

H-2b Assurances and Obligations:

A single workweek will be used for computing wage due, workers will be paid bi-weekly; Will make all deductions from the workers’ paycheck required by law; If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period HSP will reimburse the worker reasonable costs of transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Cost of return transportation and subsistence will be reimbursed if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early for any reason. The amount of transportation reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $12.46 per day during travel to a maximum of $55.00 per day with receipts; Daily transportation to / from work sites is provided as needed.; Will reimburse H-2B worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government; will provide tools, supplies & equipment without charge or deposit charge; The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12- week period.
