High Sierra Pools is seeking an innovative, knowledgeable professional for a full-time International Human Resources Manager position in our Arlington, Virginia headquarters. This person will help shape the company by supporting our people operations: developing innovative recruitment and retention strategies, partnering with other Company and department leaders, and solving the challenges of staffing our highly seasonal business.

Qualified candidates will have commercial pool management or related seasonal industry experience, preferably in a Human Resources or staffing role. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Human Resources, International Relations or a related field is preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE (BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO)

  • Assists in the development and execution of proactive recruitment strategies and collateral to meet Company staffing requirements by analyzing recruitment metrics, area demographics and contract requirements
  • Assists in the development and execution of the Company’s recruitment initiatives, including the Summer Work Travel Program
  • Assists in the development and execution of employment procedures including interviews, job fairs, pay rate assignment, training, performance appraisals, etc.
  • Supervises the daily operation of the Human Resources Department
  • Oversees assigned area(s) providing Human Resources guidance to Operations and other Company staff
  • Responds to staff inquiries related to policies, procedures and employee relations; conducts investigations and identifies and executes appropriate resolutions
  • Develops partnerships with, analyzes and maintains effective working relationships with community/property management staff, recruiters, community groups, government agencies, etc., to develop a quality pool of job applicants
  • Assists in the development of and maintains procedures for employment paperwork processing functions, ensuring compliance with legal standards and Company guidelines including payroll processes
  • Updates and maintains the integrity of all employee and applicant files and data, including electronic records and databases
  • Arranges meetings and speaks to civic, social, and other groups to provide information about the Company and job opportunities
  • Analyzes employment processes and data; reviews for measurement against the recruitment plan and Company goals, and recommends revision as needed

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

This job requires evening and weekend work as needed to meet operational demands or deadlines. A six-day workweek is required during preparation for summer pool opening and the first weeks of daily summer operation. Occasional overnight travel is required.
