High Sierra Pools, Inc (2704 Columbia Pike, Arlington, VA 22204, 703-920-1750 x102 (Vic), [email protected]) is seeking 8 temporary full time Swimming Pool Renovations Workers to perform various manual labor tasks on pool construction sites, to assist in the work of skilled tradesmen and craftsmen such plasterers, masons, carpenters, copying installers and plumbers, in performing jobs such as replacement of tile, brick and stone, demolition of plaster / concrete, installing re bar, excavation, concrete resurfacing, installation of drainage, sewer and/or water pipelines of conduits, water features install and pump room rebuild, during the period of April 1, 2020 – June 7, 2020.

MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVER LICENSE; MUST BE ABLE TO LIFT OVER 50 POUNDS; ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND AND FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS IN SPOKEN ENGLISH. MUST BE PUNCTUAL AND RELIABLE, UPON SUSPICION & POST-ACCIDENT DRUG TEST REQUIRED.

40 hrs. $24.10 / h, OT varies, paid at $36.15h. Typical schedule Mo-Fr, 8AM – 4pmPM, occasionally on Saturday or Sunday. Weather dependent.

Optional shared housing available at $150/wk, deducted from paycheck.

 

Job Title: Swimming Pool Renovations Worker

Division: Service and Repairs

Summary: Performs various manual labor tasks on pool construction sites, to assist in the work of skilled tradesmen and craftsmen such plasterers, masons, carpenters, copying installers and plumbers, in performing jobs such as replacement of tile, brick and stone, demolition of plaster / concrete, installing re bar, excavation, concrete resurfacing, installation of drainage, sewer and/or water pipelines of conduits, water features install and pump room rebuild.

Details:  Clean and prepare construction sites and maintain them through completion

Load and unload trucks, physically, or by use of wheelbarrow and dollies; unpacks and stores supplies and equipment in stockrooms, storerooms or warehouses. Distribute materials Assists in digging of swimming pools, erect wood forms and mix and pour materials such as concrete, tying rebar, setting forms for gunite, tile and copying replacement

Performs various manual tasks in connection with the installation of drainage, sewer and/or water pipelines of conduits, such as positioning, joining and sealing PVC pipe sections, erecting and removing shoring and bracing for trenches and excavations  Remove debris, clean up spills and remove rash from construction sites

Operate basic tools and equipment (e.g., saw, drill, spade, pickaxe, hammer, ripping bar, pressure cleaner, etc.) properly and safely

Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, bending over, handling of materials and general construction skills

H-2b Assurances and Obligations:

A single workweek will be used for computing wage due, workers will be paid bi-weekly; Will make all deductions from the workers’ paycheck required by law; If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period HSP will reimburse the worker reasonable costs of transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Cost of return transportation and subsistence will be reimbursed if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early for any reason. The amount of transportation reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of $12.46 per day during travel to a maximum of $55.00 per day with receipts; Daily transportation to/from worksites provided; Will reimburse H-2B worker in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing, and other related fees, including those mandated by the government; will provide tools, supplies & equipment without charge or deposit charge; The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12- week period.
