You are encouraged to apply if you meet all of the following criteria:

• Previously worked as a High Sierra Pools U.S. lifeguard in good standing

• Completed at least one full season with High Sierra Pools

• Return and complete seasonal employment in Summer 2026 with High Sierra Pools

• Are enrolled full-time in an accredited college, university, or trade program

• Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA

• Can demonstrate financial need

Summer Work and Travel (J-1 visa) participants are excluded due to tax withholding requirements.

To be considered, applicants must submit a complete application by the published deadline. Required materials include:

• A completed scholarship application

• Proof of enrollment or acceptance at an accredited institution

• Most recent academic transcript

• A short essay explaining:
  “How does your experience as a lifeguard contribute to your future career goals?”

• One letter of recommendation from a teacher, professor, or manager outside of High Sierra Pools

For the 2026 cycle, six scholarships will be awarded:

$2,000 – 1 recipient

$1,500 – 2 recipients

$1,000 – 3 recipients

Scholarship awards range from $1,000 to $2,000, based on applicant qualifications and available funding.

Scholarship funds will be sent directly to selected students in late August and may be used toward qualifying educational expenses, including:

• Tuition and mandatory fees

• Student loans related to the employee’s own education

• Books, supplies, and required equipment

Receipts may be required for eligible expenses. Certain costs — such as housing, meals, transportation, or non-required equipment — are not eligible.
